J and M Concrete is Hiring a Concrete Finisher Near Sterling, IL

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete surfaces to create smooth and durable finished products. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for concrete placement by cleaning, leveling, and compacting
- Set up forms or molds to hold concrete in place
- Pour concrete into forms and spread it evenly using rakes or shovels
- Smooth and level the surface using hand or power trowels
- Apply finishing techniques such as stamping, staining, or polishing
- Repair damaged concrete surfaces by patching or resurfacing
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or similar role
- Knowledge of concrete mixing and pouring techniques
- Familiarity with masonry tools and equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
- Experience with tile laying, welding, metal stud framing, or commercial driving is a plus

Note: This is a paid position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.39 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
